The HealthMate uses 60 square feet of True Medical HEPA paper in the HealthMate and 25 square feet in the HealthMate Junior. This special paper is designed to remove microscopic particles from the air including the dust mites and molds I am allergic to. In addition, Austin Air uses 15 pounds of carbon and zeolite in the HealthMate and 6.5 pounds in the HealthMate Junior. This special combination of activated carbon and zeolite absorb over 3,000 gases and odors from the air including the cleaning solvents and formaldehyde to which I am so reactive.
By using a generous amount of filter media and a fan which moves a large volume of air through that media, this relatively small unit had produced amazing results for me. The HealthMate changed my life for a cost of about $450!
